Question re: mass market oil painting [04 Sep 2008|09:13pm]

[ mood | hopeful ]

I'm hoping members here can help me to recall a painting that hung on my grandparent's living room wall, and that I've seen plenty of times since, but I am unable to remember the name of the artist. This was a large mass-market oil painting, I believe it originated in the early 1960's, featuring an abstract city-scape, it may in fact be NYC, but I'm not sure about that bit. It was done in shades of blues and greens and commonly hung behind the sofa or above the mantel. I'm sure most everyone who appreciates the era has seen a copy of it at some point.

A little help, please? I've been able to remember this at any other time, but not tonight, and it's driving me batty!

Thanks very much.

EDIT: I found a photo of it:

What I did last weekend [26 Jun 2007|05:02pm]

[ mood | happy ]

For those of you who don't know. I am a WWII reenactor. I portray a combat photographer. I have a little service I offer to visitors at public events. I let them dress up in a uniform -- usually the uniform of a relative (grandpa, grandma, great-uncle, etc.) who was a WWII vet, then I take their photo with my WWII 4x5 Speed Graphic.

Here are some photos I took at the WWII Weekend at Historic Ft. Snelling this past weekend.

Zeppelintribune Swastika Blown Up [19 May 2005|12:08pm]

Does anyone know where we could find the video (or have it on their computer and could send it to us) of the US Army blowing up this swastika on the top of the Zeppelintribüne? We've looked for it for two days on google, and aren't really sure what to call it/what to search for, and haven't turned up any results that help.
So, if you could please help or know anyone who could, it would be much appreciated ^_^
